Five Contestants from Our University-Affiliated Hospitals Achieve Outstanding Results in the Zhejiang Provincial Youth Medical Workers' Practical Innovation Competition

On September 27, the Zhejiang Provincial Youth Medical Workers' Practical Innovation Competition, sponsored by the Zhejiang Federation of Trade Unions and undertaken by the Zhejiang Education Trade Union, was held at Zhejiang Chinese Medical University. After fierce competition in the preliminary round, roadshow, defense and other sessions, Xia Dongdong from the First Affiliated Hospital of Ningbo University and Li Shiwei from Ningbo University Affiliated Li Huili Hospital won the first and second prizes of the Special Award in the Clinical Group respectively; Li Qiong from Ningbo University Affiliated Kangning Hospital won the First Prize in the Medical Technology Group; and Zhu Minbo from Ningbo University Affiliated Women and Children's Hospital and Xu Xiongfeng from the First Affiliated Hospital of Ningbo University won the Second Prize in the Clinical Group.

The Zhejiang Provincial Youth Medical Workers' Practical Innovation Competition is an event launched by the Zhejiang Federation of Trade Unions to earnestly study and implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping, focusing on high-quality development, making contributions, and innovation. Participants are young medical workers under the age of 40. The competition emphasizes practicality, adhering to the orientation of serving frontline staff and solving frontline problems; highlights innovation, requiring that invented projects, new materials and new technologies have originality or significant progress and innovation; stresses mass participation, mobilizing young medical workers to participate extensively and give full play to their youthful vitality; and values social benefits, demanding that the medical practical applications have broad prospects and good social and economic benefits. The competition sets up three groups: Clinical, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Medical Technology. After layers of selection and online evaluation by experts, 47 innovative projects finally entered the finals. Young medical workers from 11 provincial universities including Zhejiang University, Westlake University, Wenzhou Medical University, Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, and their 24 directly affiliated hospitals participated in the competition and exchanged experiences on the same stage.

Under the leadership of the University Trade Union, the Medical College carefully organized the competition, with various hospitals recommending projects and multiple departments collaborating and linking up. The contestants devoted a great deal of effort to preparing for their projects. This is also the first time that the Ningbo University Trade Union has participated in this competition since it became a directly affiliated trade union of the Zhejiang Education Trade Union. The award-winning projects have a high theoretical level and great potential to solve practical clinical problems. Their innovation and achievement transformation will inject new impetus into the high-quality development of all directly affiliated hospitals.
